KMG Partnership provides an extensive range of engineering and architectural design services, from feasibility studies through to construction. Our design services are delivered by highly trained and qualified architects and engineers with experience across a wide range of building types, including industrial, retail, hospitality, commercial and leisure. Our services are tailored to our clients’ requirements. As well as following the RIBA Plan of Work, we explore how combining or in-depth investigation of certain stages can offer certainty and the desired outcome.

Getting things right quickly and immediately
We aim to provide a clear and comprehensive approach to all our services and work closely with our clients and stakeholders to develop their briefs and help them formulate a budget for their projects. Our initial consultation is always free; this is when we discuss our clients’ vision and objectives. We outline a clear programme of the stages we intend to follow and provide a fee proposal that can all be reviewed and adjusted following the level of requirements dictated by the site and design aspirations.

Step-by-step approaches
The components of the early stages include client briefing and concept design. We also conduct pre-design services, including site master planning, ground investigation and historic research on structures or building sites. At the schematic stage, we incorporate design approaches and concept sketches that we develop with client and stakeholders’ input. This process is important, as it sets clear requirements before proceeding to detailed design and identifying opportunities and other added-value and cost-savings options.

During the detailed design stage, we will further develop the preferred scheme into a working set of plans and elevations, which can then be costed against the budget or used to help formulate a more detailed cost plan. During this process, we can also review the scale of the development while focusing on quality and cost efficiency. Input from other consultants will ensure that all the building elements are coordinated and implemented before proceeding to the technical design stage.

Depending on the procurement route, we tailor our services to compile tender packages at the detailed design stage or proceed to refining the design information into the detailed technical set of drawings and specifications that are required to construct the project. We will coordinate further with other design consultants, if required, as defined by our scope of services to produce a complete tender document. The level of detail and quality of the tender information will help to minimise unforeseen problems and cost overruns during construction.

During the bidding and contract negotiation phase, we assist clients in the review process by analysing tender returns and comparing bids to ensure they receive the best value for money and their needs are met.

KMG can administer the contract and act as an independent and unbiased observer during the construction phase to safeguard the client interests.

Accelerating a Danish manufacturer’s capability for producing and supplying vaccines

“Collaboration between KMG Partnership and IPS-Integrated Project Services Limited started in 2016. We expanded a vaccine manufacturing facility in Denmark, including constructing large-scale fill and finish using state-of-the-art technology and preparing for filling, freeze-drying and packaging vaccines.
Collaborating with KMG was essential for providing the client with a full design service for their new facility. An integrated design team for the building structure and the manufacturing process developed a close working relationship, enabling both companies to work efficiently in applying lessons learned to understand each other’s needs better.
I would have no reservations about using KMG on a similar project in the future and continuing our partnership.”
